Dublin Grizzell Middle School
Weekly Update 12/04/20
Principal's Message
Opportunities to “give” allow students to learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, sacrifice, selflessness, and hard work. The more we give, the more we stand to gain purpose, meaning and happiness. Ultimately, when you give your time, energy, and money to others, you feel better about yourself and your community! I know our kids get great joy and satisfaction out of helping others. I have been working with student council to come up with ways that students can give back this holiday season. I put the responsibility on the student council group to work on communication and develop a focus directed towards the students. So, although I will put the information in my newsletter for next week, I am hoping that these student leaders will spearhead this work with their peers.
In addition to student work, parents will be getting information from our team leaders on how you can provide holiday assistance to some of our Celtic families. There will be a sign up genius for each grade level that we will use to help brighten some spirits during the holidays. Our GMS staff will be contributing and working alongside our families towards this same goal.
I am so proud of our staff and students and continue to be amazed at the great things that I hear and see each day at Grizzell. I even had the opportunity to teach a 7th grade math class on Friday and witness firsthand the work of our students. 😊
Thank you for your continued support and I hope that you have a great weekend.
Andy

Dublin Ski and Board Club Canceled for the 2021 Winter Season
Thank you for your patience. I regret to inform you that Dublin Ski and Board Club has been canceled for the 2021 winter season. Student safety is our priority. Given the current COVID numbers and being in a global pandemic, we are unable to safely continue with Ski and Board Club. In addition, Mad River Mountain is unable to accommodate Ski Clubs this year and is not offering student ski club rates.
Although we are not having an organized Ski Club, I do have some good news for you!
Snow Trails is offering a discounted rate if you purchase by November 30th. Please See The Attached Flyer. Also, Colorado Mountain is offering a discount to Dublin City Schools students. Please See The Attached Flyer.
Finally, Mad River is offering their EPIC Pass. Check with their website for details about Reservations.
Again, I apologize that Dublin Ski and Board will not proceed for the 2020-2021 school year, but wish you all a safe winter ski season on your own! Skis up!
