Blaze Bulletin
Edition 37
Greetings...
Dear teachers,
I was thinking about autumn with the first hint of coolness in the air yesterday. I'm not exactly sure why my thoughts immediately drift to the northeast and writers of the northeast, but - in the fall - they do. So I was thinking about Thoreau and remembered a paraphrase of the following quote (but I had to look it up to get the exact words):
"I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion." - Henry David Thoreau
While I embrace the importance of connections with each other, I also think it's important to connect with yourself! So my wish for you this fall break is to sit on a pumpkin all alone....
Rest and rejuvenate!
-lj
