MAP Results
From the Assessment Department: This afternoon, at 4:00, we will close the MAP window and by tomorrow morning, you will be able to run any report that should contain building and district summary data. Please see information in the AIM for Excellence for report-printing protocols.
Attached, please find a parent letter to be included with student progress reports.
We will give the MAP reports and letter to parents at P/T conferences.
Major Saver
Our first turn in date is Wednesday. Please be prepared to have a Major Saver rep come by your classroom and exchange the $ for prizes.
The BIG3 and SIP
In my next 3 newsletters, we will be highlighting articles related to the Big3 (student engagement, standards, and PLC). Please read and reflect on your practices based on these articles.
The second article is titled "5 Habits of Effective PLC's"
Please follow this link to read:
Counselor's Corner
As you know, a positive teacher-student relationship is critical to a child’s learning. It helps build trust to make mistakes, to ask for help, and to build confidence to try again. Don’t ever underestimate how much influence you have. “You are the strategy!”
Vertical Team Planning Page
Reminder!
Please begin to work with your PLC on completing this form so it doesn't sneak up on you at the end of the year. You are welcome to cut and paste anything from the PLC notes. These forms have been put in your grade level "teams".
New Laptops are Here!
Reminder!
We received the new laptops and they are similar to your surface pros (have a keyboard, but also could be a tablet with touch screen). We are configuring them right now, but if you are wanting to use them, please let Amy know to check them out and bring to your room.
Interventions on Synergy
Reminder!
Please make sure that you are putting this on synergy when you begin and then update this when you complete it. This should be done for any behavior or academic interventions.
Visitor Check In
Reminder!
If you can do us a big favor:
If you have a person coming in to help in your classroom (senior serving schools, grandparent, mystery reader, speaker, etc,) that is not a parent at our school, please email or let Cristy, Lesley, and Andrea know.
If we don't know that they are coming, we end up having to stop them at the door and not let them in until we confirm with you...which ends up making our visitors a little testy...so if you can give us a heads up, it will go much smoother. Thanks!
Afternoon Dismissal Duty if you are Absent
Reminder!
If you have a dismissal duty:
- If you are absent (and it is something that you have planned or know in advance), please try and contact a floater or someone on your grade level to see if they can cover your duty. I am not comfortable with substitutes doing these duties because they do not know the kids, our routines, and our procedures. I understand that there are certain substitutes that are our regulars. If these people are your substitute, please feel free to use them for these roles. Thank you!
