From the Principal
Our first ever Walk to School Day was a success! It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members join in the fun. Throughout the day, I heard feedback from students, teachers, and parents that the walk was a great start to their day. Although some told me that it was too cold for walking, all of the smiles told me a different story. Click here to see a short video of the walk. Thanks to everyone for participating!
If bringing in hand-washing stations has any perks, it has to be the amount of hand-washing that is now taking place. I think your children must have the cleanest hands that they've had all year! I am glad they can find a little joy in something that is not necessarily ideal. The way they have embraced the change, and been a little excited about it, really is great to see. I am hoping that we are doing our part to combat flu season with our strong hand-washing skills!
Over the last three days, we have continued to partner with the Health Department and outside agencies to problem solve and remedy the situation. With their guidance, multiple steps have been taken which include targeted maintenance of pipes, cleaning of the water softener and chlorinating of the water lines. We will continue to use the hand washing stations, bottled water, and have our food prepped off-site until the water is cleared for use. As new information becomes available, I will be sure to provide updates.
Have a great weekend!

New Elementary School Day Update
Thank you to all parents who completed the form that provided us with feedback about the new elementary school day. The District was thrilled to have received over 900 responses. On September 23, parents and staff members who make up the Think Tank met to review research and have a discussion about innovative learning and what it looks like in District 303. In addition, they analyzed the feedback form responses. A summary of the first meeting is available on the District 303 website here. We encourage you to take a moment to read over the summary. We will provide you with additional summaries after subsequent meetings.
