Principal Note
Munhall Staff Appreciation Week
I want to thank our PTO and all of our wonderful parents who made donations for next week’s Staff Appreciation Week! I can assure you that our staff will be extremely grateful with all of the thoughtful ways they will be recognized next week.
Mun Run
Our students have surpassed our goal for our Mun Run fundraiser, which means I will be ‘camping’ on the roof. I will communicate, after checking the weather😊, the date I will be set up my tent and get comfortable on the Munhall roof. It will be a lot of fun! Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase a sensory path for one of our hallways, which will benefit our students!
Returning Student Registration for 2021-2022 School Year
Returning student registration for the 2021-2022 school year opened on April 26th. Parents can sign into the Returning Student Online Registration form located in the Parents/Community menu of the District website.
Parents/guardians will use their Home Access Center (HAC) credentials to sign in and select individual students to complete each registration. The electronic registration forms for elementary and middle school students should be completed by June 1.
Registration fees for all grades will be available in Pushcoin beginning July 1, and will be billed to reflect the early bird discount if paid by July 31. Pushcoin will email invoices for accounts with balances due on the 15th of each month until paid in full.
ECRA SEL Survey
Starting next week the spring window for our district’s social/emotional learning survey will open for our 2nd-5th grade students. Please refer to my parent communication on Thursday, April 29th for specific information about the ECRA SEL Survey.

Please remember to take care of your children’s dental health.
Cavities (also known as caries or tooth decay) are one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood in the United States. Untreated cavities can cause pain and infections that may lead to problems with eating, speaking, playing, and learning. Children who have poor oral health often miss more school and receive lower grades than children who don’t. “Basics of Oral Health.” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 4 Jan. 2021, www.cdc.gov
Join the Orchestra!
All students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade next fall are welcome to participate in the elementary string program. Our goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences in music and develop individual student achievement and appreciation of music. The elementary instrumental music program also provides excellent preparation for the middle school and high school bands and orchestras.
There are four string instruments for students to choose from. Click on these links to learn more about each instrument.
Orchestra Parent Information Virtual Meeting
If you are interested in enrolling your child in orchestra for the 2021-2022 school year, please attend one of our Orchestra New Parent (Virtual) Information Meetings. You will hear more about our D303 Orchestra program, and have a chance to ask any questions you may have. For your convenience, one of the D303 preferred instrument rental vendors will be at each meeting to assist you with renting an instrument. At the end of the presentation, there will be breakout rooms so that we can meet and I can answer any questions specific to Munhall or Lincoln School. Both meetings are identical. Choose the one that works best for you!
Can’t attend either night? The meeting will be recorded and available for viewing at your convenience.
