A Message from the Principal's Desk:
Greetings Kingsway Community,
Kingsway Regional Middle School students were treated to several valuable experiences throughout the short, yet busy month of February. The month kicked off with our seventh annual Black History Month Student Showcase entitled, The African American Experience. The entire eighth grade student body did an outstanding job researching and presenting their projects, and we had over 250 parents and guests come out to support the event. Our Renaissance club participation increased greatly over last year's second semester; 325 students were treated to a day at Total Turf. Fun was had by all!
March proves to be just as productive. Our #1DragonFamily theme this month will focus on Character, and we have a guest speaker in store for the students on March 16. Additionally, our band and chorus concerts are slated for this month; the students are certainly prepped and ready to perform. Finally, Kingsway's most talented teens will take center stage at the annual Kingsway Regional Middle School Talent Show on March 18.

Communication
Renaissance: Congratulations to the 325 students who qualified to be a part of our Renaissance Program. Over the first semester, these students completed community service hours, got involved in clubs and activities at KRMS, kept their grades up, and were well-behaved day in and day out. The students will enjoy the various perks (homework passes, cell phone privileges, quiz exemptions,....) from earning Renaissance status, and they were all treated to a day at Total Turf on February 25th.
Freshman Advisement: The guidance department is currently holding freshman advisement meetings with all eighth grade students. Students will be provided with a list of freshman courses which is also available for viewing on Power School. If you have any questions, please contact your child's guidance counselor, Mrs. Kupsey at Kupseyt@krsd.us.
#1DragonFamily/Guest Speaker Assembly: To go along with our March #1DragonFamily theme of Responsibility, our 7th and 8th grade students will hear from Preston Centuolo of The Youth Alliance in an assembly on March 16th. Our students will learn more about making positive choices, goal setting, and what it means to be a responsible student during a fun and interactive student presentation.
Talent Show: The Middle School Talent Show will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18.
Basketball Teams vs. The Faculty: This spring the KRMS Boys and Girls basketball teams will face off against the KRMS Faculty! More information about this event is forthcoming.
Spirit of Philadelphia Field Trip: Information about payments for the 8th grade field trip to The Spirit of Philadelphia will be given out to the students during the week of March 21. All permission slips and money will be due on April 1. Any student who exceeds eight unexcused absences, loses his/her good student standing three or more times, or owes an obligation, will not be permitted to go on the field trip.
MathCounts: For the first time in school history, KRMS won the South Jersey MathCounts competition! Congratulations to Ryan Duffy, Mason Corey, Melanie Ortiz Vicente, and Mohid Rasool for securing the win. KRMS also had a strong showing in the individual competition as Ryan Duffy won the individual event. Misha Ilagan finished 8th, Mason Corey 9th, and Melanie Ortiz Vicente 12th. Ryan has advanced to the state competition in late March.
