Getting your NEWS on....

Happy Fall Everyone.

Dear Parents:

I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather. I know it is cool in the mornings and hot in the afternoons. Please remember we do go outside for recess- 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. You may want to send jackets with your students.

Please remember a couple items for our children’s safety. Background checks need to be on file in order to participate in class parties. If you walk your child up to the building, it is important to drop them off at the front door. This ensures your child’s safety by limiting the number of non-staff members in the building. Again, I remind parents/guardians to pull off the street when dropping your children off at school in the morning. Please remember to pick-up/drop off students on the right side of the car only. In the mornings, the door at the loop will close at 8:00 a.m.. So if you want to drop your student off in the drop off lane please be sure to let them out on the front sidewalk and students may enter through the front door. Please remember to check out AV schools twitter account at AVR2Schools. I post pictures, letters, and important reminders there.

I also need to pass along a couple of reminders about 21st century. No longer are we accepting late calendars so please be sure to get your child’s calendar in by the last day of the month. 21st is also no longer able to provide transportation due to funding being cut. Lastly, 21st century is over at 5:30 p.m. in the evenings so please make sure to pick up your child no later than 5:30 p.m..

I also passed out information about schoolstore.com this week. Remember when you are shopping online at Kohl’s, JC Penney, Sears, Target, Walmart, and many other stores you can go through schoolstore.com and key in our school and our school earns money. Thanks for your support.

Please note if your child is late to school (after 8:10 a.m.) that you must bring them into the office to sign them in. We do not allow students to sign themselves in.
