Taking Down ISIS
Thesis
The most effective ways to take out ISIS are to raid Syria, stop ISIS from recruiting, and stop them from making money.
Raiding Syria
The US and other coalition forces such as Australia, Canada, France, and Britain, have been sending in air strikes to target ISIS bases and oil rigs since late 2014. Their goal in this is to try to kill ISIS officials and members. If the the US and other coalition forces start to raid Syria with ground forces, they will have a higher chance of getting information, killing ISIS members, and taking ISIS members hostage. The picture is a map of different group's land in Syria.
Stop ISIS From Recruiting
ISIS uses many different methods for recruiting. Methods can vary from persuading users on social media such as Twitter, Instagram, or online chat rooms to brainwashing young children from birth. If the FBI can help stop online recruiting, then ISIS’s recruiting numbers will start to go down, and ISIS will eventually become not such a big threat.
Stop ISIS From Making Money
ISIS makes $1,000,000 (1 million) USD per day from oil exports. The best ways to stop ISIS from making money is to blow up oil tankers, refineries, drills and to blow up bunkers filled with ISIS cash. ISIS keeps its money in bunkers because it cannot join a bank to keep their money in, because the US would shut it down. So as an alternative, ISIS keeps bunkers filled with million of dollars of cash. The picture is of where ISIS gets its money.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the fight against ISIS will not be easily won. Hundreds of different strategies will be used to try to stop ISIS. Many will not work, many will, but it is impossible to know which ones will and won’t work if we don’t try them. Even though the most effective ways to take out ISIS are raiding Syria, stopping ISIS from recruiting, and stopping them from making money, there are many other strategies that could be used in the fight against ISIS.
