Submissions will be judged by celebrity judges provided by each province and the top 5 in each category will be featured on the RSC website and voted upon by RSC members.
Enter as an individual or as a group. Enter from your club practice facility, or from your home.
Please Note: Athletes are expected to follow all provincially mandated public health guidelines and should choose a safe space to work. All athletes are expected to sign and return to their coach the RSC waiver located here
Events and Age Groups
Types of Events
- Best Trick
- 30 Sec Backwards Speed
- Individual Fab Five
- Individual 15 seconds on the Beat
Events open to groups of two or more:
These events may be completed using single ropes, wheel ropes, long ropes, or double dutch ropes.
- Team 15 seconds on the beat
- Team Fab Five
** Note: an individual competing in a team event may not compete in the same team event with a different group combination. (e.g. Sally and Mike compete in Team Fab Five as a pair. Sally cannot compete in Team Fab Five with Brittany and Ashley as well)
An individual may compete as an individual in an event and also compete in the group version of that event. (e.g Sally competes in Individual Fab Five and also competes in Team Fab Five with Mike because these are two separate events, and will be judged separately)

Event Descriptions
Backwards Speed
Best Trick
Criteria: Difficulty is the primary focus of this event but clean execution will also be considered. Skill must consist of no more than two jumps (i.e. an entrance and an exit). Note that the IJRU judging criteria will NOT be used in this event, so the IJRU skill level will not be used to determine the finalists.
15 Seconds on the Beat
Criteria for Individual 15 seconds on the Beat
- Athletes have 15 seconds to show the best music interpretation possible while skipping.
- The focus of this event will be creative choreography to music and smooth execution. Difficulty of skills will not be considered.
- Athletes may enter the individual as well as the team version
Criteria for Team 15 seconds on the Beat
- Try your hand with two or more athletes.
- Athletes have 15 seconds to show the best music interpretation possible while skipping.
- Any type of rope may be used (single, wheel, double dutch, long rope)
- Athletes may only enter the team version one time. Athletes may enter the individual as well as the team version.
- The focus of this event will be creative choreography to music and smooth execution.
- Difficulty of skills will not be considered.
Individual Fab 5 and Team Fab 5
Criteria
Criteria for Individual Fab 5
- Creativity, smooth execution and technique will be the focus of this event.
- All five skills must be performed in combination and be completed in no more than 7 jumps (i.e. enter, skill x5, exit)
Criteria for Team Fab 5
- Try your hand with two athletes or more.
- Creativity, smooth execution and technique will be the focus of this event.
- All five skills must be performed in combination and be completed in no more than 7 jumps.
- All skills must be completed by all team members.
- Interactions are permitted only if in compliance with PHO guidelines.
How to Register
Registration of Athletes
Coaches may choose to either take care of registration and video uploads on behalf of athletes, or may allow athletes to register themselves and upload videos.
Once registered, a link will be sent to the registered emails to upload videos.
Timeline
May 10th - Registration Opens
May 25th - Registration Closes
June 4th - Video Submissions Due
June 18th - Judges provide top 5 videos in each event to be posted on the RSC website
June 21-26 - Member voting takes place
June 28th - Winners announced
Judges
- Nominated by the PSOs
- Former or current athletes or coaches over the age of 16
- Can't be competing in the age category they are judging
- Must be an RSC member in good standing
- Must have one judge able to judge in each age category
- Must have at least one judge able to judge in each event (e.g a judge who understands levels of difficulty, another who can click speed etc. )
How to Record and Submit a Video
How to Record and Submit a video
The video submission guidelines will be exactly the same as those for the IJRU Virtual World Championship with the exception of the QR code. A new QR code has been designed for this event and is linked here. View the video recording and submission guidelines to learn about the camera settings and video requirements for all event submissions.
All athletes will need to stand in front of the camera and show the QR Code Located HERE to verify the video submission. You can print out the code or show a digital version from a phone or tablet. This code must be visible in any videos uploaded for the RSC National Challenge
