Bus Transportation on the Last Day of School

Our last day of school is next Friday, June 11! It is a half-day and our dismissal time is 12:30pm. PLEASE NOTE that the buses tend to run very late on the last day! So if you have plans or want to avoid your student(s) arriving home late on the last day, you may want to make arrangements to pick them up.

Lost & Found

Don't forget to check out the Lost & Found before the end of school next week! The bin is located outside door number 21. All items not picked up will be donated.

Yearbooks Are In!

The 2020-2021 yearbooks have arrived and will be distributed to your student next week. If you did not get a chance to order a yearbook, I only have a few left for sale in the office. Feel free to email me at to set aside a copy for you. They are $10 (cash only, please) and you can send it into the Spencer Office. Thank you to those of you who have already sent in your money for the yearbook. If I received your payment, I put your student's yearbook in with the class bundle.

Office News

It's the Last Podcast for the Year!

How do you balance? How do you keep all of the plates spinning? I used to think the more I worked and focused on balance, the better I would be. It turns out, I actually became more frustrated and beat myself up for missing opportunities and just being tired from the day. There has to be a better way? There is, and by listening, you'll find out what I discovered that might help you!

Counselor's Corner

Final Counselor's Corner of the School Year

Well, we made it to the final stretch of the year! The last month, when the sun is shining and energy is high! And after so many months of hurdles and challenges, it is time to celebrate all that we accomplished and overcame during this school year. From masks and cohort bubbles to virtual lessons and synchronous learning, we have done it all in a year like no other. The Elementary Counselors would like to take time this month to celebrate our students and highlight their amazing strengths with a Social-Emotional lesson centered around self-concept. We plan to take time with classrooms to reflect on what we CAN DO, what we DO WELL, and what makes us UNIQUE. We want to end this year on a positive note and recognize how truly resilient our students are, and we hope that you take some time at home to do this as well.

Thank you for the amazing support from our staff and parents as we worked to connect with and support all of our students this year. We are already working towards our plans for next school year and look forward to expanding our avenues of support.

Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed here at school.

More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!

COVID-19 Self-Reporting

If a member in your Spencer students household is awaiting test results for COVID-19, please DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL UNTIL THE TEST RESULTS ARE DETERMINED. If the results come back positive, please fill out the Self-Reporting Form below. Thank you for your cooperation as we try to keep our Spencer community safe!

COVID Communication

In an attempt to not over-communicate to families at Spencer with emails regarding positive Covid 19 cases, BAS is no longer sending community-wide emails to all parents and guardians for each case, at each building.

We ARE, of course, still sending emails to ALL students, parents, and staff facing mandated quarantines and ALL parents, students, and staff who have been in classrooms where a positive COVID-19 case has been reported.

Families of those directly impacted receive direct communication regarding any new cases. If you have any questions regarding COVID-19, please feel free to visit our district's COVID-19 transparency site at"

In addition, the Livingston County Health Department is no longer receiving the reports of positive COVID-19 tests of adults between the ages of 19-64 from the testing sites. For this reason, they are requesting that our parent/guardians self-report if they have tested positive or exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 to allow for the necessary contact-tracing within our school. You will find the link to the to the COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form below...
