Thank-You Action Team - Spreading Holiday Cheer!
The Student Lighthouse: Thank-You Action Team has been hard at work showing appreciation to those who help our student body. Earlier this fall we wrote thank you notes to the MANY donors who make our Fall Festival such a great success. We also want to share with our community, so we decided to write cards and color Thanksgiving pictures for our local nursing home residents. We hope to spread some holiday cheer!
First Grade Learning About Author's Purpose
First graders learned about Author’s Purpose with the acronym PIE (persuade, inform, entertain). They wrote to persuade their readers whether or not we should eat turkeys on Thanksgiving. Then they learned about turkeys and wrote a nonfiction article and an entertaining story about a turkey they drew. After all that writing, they tried some different Thanksgiving pies, and then worked to persuade their readers to try their favorite kind of pie!

News from Mrs. Bland
Dear Parents of Third and Fifth Grade Students,
Indiana State law requires that certain grades have vision screenings. Your school clinic will begin acuity screenings in December. Please watch for your student’s results to come home in their backpack. If a student does not pass any portion of the screening, we will contact you with a written referral form.
If you do not want your child screened, please contact Holly Bland in the clinic.
