Harry Houdini the Early Years
Ehrich Weisz or Known as Harry Houdini was born on March 24th, 1874 in Budapest, Hungary. Houdini's family immigrated to America in search for a better life. Houdini got a job shining shoes and selling news papers. At age nine Houdini performed his first trapeze act. At age 12 Houdini got on a freight cart and ran away.
The Great Houdini
Harry Houdini was famous for escaping prisons, police handcuffs and straightjackets. Houdini also recieved certificates from the prison wardens for escaping their prison. Houdini finally accomplished his dream of performing a full magic show. Harry also started his own film library called "The film development corporation" Harry died in 1926 from a ruptured appendix. Harry did not want the medical help and kept traveling.
Houdini's Impact
Houdini had an impact on the 1920's by being a influential magician. In 1904 to 1920 Houdini has performed all over the United States. In 1923 Houdini gave up being a movie actor. But years later Houdini was given a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
