A Message from Mrs. Vásquez

Thank you, RES families, for a successful first grading period! It's hard to believe we are almost to the end of the first nine-weeks when it seems as if we just started the school year! We are off to a MAGICAL start with our little ones busy learning, while the adjustments we've made this year seem like a distant memory. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work together to make Rosehill the best school in TISD! I am proud of the hard work, passion, and caring spirit of the RES community. #RESmagic #Kidsdserveit

A little bit about me . . .

This year will mark 21 years in education! I started my journey in Galena Park ISD as a first grade bilingual teacher for five years, then taught 2nd grade bilingual for two years. I held the role of bilingual specialist and counselor for a few years until becoming assistant principal and was soon honored to serve as principal at Woodland Acres Elementary for three years. I was then asked to lead Cimarron Elementary as their principal for two years before moving to be a principal in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. I served the community of Frazier Elementary for five years.

I am happily married to David and we celebrated 25 years together last year! We have three great kids: David, 24; Alyssa, 19, and Adam, 15. We also have a furry family member, Bibi, who has blessed our family for 11 years now.I am the oldest of four siblings and the first to graduate from college on both sides of my family.

We are big Astros fans---go "Stros!---and spend our weekends supporting our youngest with his high school band activities, barbecuing when the weather is nice, and going to church.

It's a busy life, but my parents instilled in me a deep work ethic and servant heart. Working with families, students and staff is my calling and I look forward to sharing in this journey with the RES community.
