Claude died on December 5, 1926 in Giverny, France of lung cancer.
He was second son of Claude Adolphe and Aubree Monet.
On May 20, 1841 he was baptized in the local church parish Notre-Dame-de-Lorette
as Oscar Claude. In 1845 his family moved to Le Havre in Normandy,
where he entered Le Havre secondary school of arts on April 1, 1851. Soon after
his mother died and he was forced to live with his Aunt. Monet traveled to paris and his painting years began!
