My Trip to LELLA

LELLA Trip
I went to LELLA on 10/2/13. LELLA stands for Lewisville Lake
Environmental Learning Area.We learned about Food Chains & Webs.A Food Chain shows how each living thing gets its food. It also shows who is eating who.A food web is a diagram, of some sort that links at least two food chains together,also they describe how energy is passed throughout a section of a ecosystem.

Producer
Plants are producers in an ecosystem because they are something called autotrophic. This means they are able to make their own food, using the energy from the sun. Grass is an example of a Producer
Consumer
A consumer is a living thing that eats organisms for energy.Also a consumer is an animal that does not produce it own food. A pig is an example of a Consumer.
Decomposer
Decomposers and scavengers break down dead plants and animals. They also break down the waste (poop) of other organisms. Fungus is an example of a Decomposer.
