The Kennedy Pride
December News
Note from the Principal
Hello Kennedy Families! We are in the wonderful month of December. The year is certainly flying by quickly. It has been a great year so far and we look forward to December being a magical month. We are so proud of our students! Our students are really stepping up to the challenge of showing their Kennedy BEST. We continue to discuss with our students the high expectations that we have for them. "Work Hard and Be Kind" is our motto and our students are living examples of this everyday. Our Kennedy challenge is try to make Kennedy a better place for others. I see examples of this consistently from our students and staff. We have created an awesome learning environment. We are proud to be Kennedy Cubs!
Thank you for all of your support!

Pre-K Update
We have been enjoying learning all about gingerbread men the past few weeks! We have spent time reading different versions of the book, making gingerbread playdough, building bridges to help save the gingerbread man, and re-enacting the story in our Gingerbread Bakery in the dramatic play area. We have also incorporated elements of the story into our math and literacy groups, and decorated our own gingerbread cookies!
During the next few weeks, we will be exploring snow and ice. We have a “Polar Ice World” set up on our light table, an invitation to create snowmen with “sparkle dough” and loose parts, and we are reading many books about snowmen, snow, ice, and winter. We will also explore the properties of snow and ice, and observe what happens when they change from a solid to a liquid. We are really excited for the first official day of winter, when we will celebrate with a Winter Wonderland pajama party!
