8TH GRADE ART STUDENTS SHOWING THEIR PATRIOTISM!!!

TARDIES--

Beginning Wednesday, November 11, 2020 teachers will begin documenting tardies in gradebook. At LVJH we want our students to understand the importance of punctuality as well as learning to manage time between classes. We will use the following criteria when assigning a consequence for excessive tardiness. Please note, we will calculate tardies cumulatively and not per class. Tardies will reset at the start of each nine weeks.

Parents may enable tardy alerts through the parent portal (Ascender parent portal).

1-2 tardies = email notification through messaging system

3-4 tardies = 30 minute AM or PM detention

5 + tardies = 60 minute AM or PM detention

Please reach out to your child’s assistant principal with questions or concerns.

HERO SQUAD/PENNIES FOR PATIENTS!!!

We are still collecting pennies! We appreciate you helping us reach our goal of $2500!!

JUST A QUICK UPDATE...

As we progress through the 2nd 9 weeks, our teachers continually analyze student progress and make adjustments to meet needs. Each week, teachers, curriculum coordinators and administration review learning standards including ones that may have been missed due to last spring. Our teachers create a variety of activities and adjust activities to circle back and spiral content that students may need some extra work with. Our fall assessment data has also provided us with great data that supports our teachers GREAT efforts! We are currently utilizing multiple sources of student performance data to create caseloads of students that need help with course recovery and just getting caught up. EVERY KID EVERY DAY!

Thank you teachers for ALL of your hard work!
