It's time to rhyme!
This month in reading we will be focusing on the skill set of rhyming words. Dr. Seuss will be the highlighted author of the month for our small reading groups. Be on the lookout for those take home readers! By the end of October, I hope to have our little owls reading rhyming words, identifying them in stories, and sorting rhyming words into like categories.
Art
This month we will be focusing on leaf imprinting! We will be taking several nature walks around campus to gather leaves for their big project! At the end of the month the students will bind all of their leaf imprints and drawings together and have a nice booklet of their artwork.
Specials
Ms. Tormey's annual Spooky Tunes is back in music class by popular demand! Students will be movin' and groovin' to songs like; "The Monster Mash," "The Skeleton Dance," and "Five Little Pumpkins."
Classroomm updates, changes, and more!
There are a few classroom changes in room 123 this month, take a look!
Our library center has received 2 new crates of books donated by our local Half Price Bookstore! These crates have a variety of Children's books that I'm more than certain your children will go crazy about!
Our writing center has a brand new addition; STAMPS! Students will now have the opportunity to use letter stamps in order to form sight words and words of the week on their own papers, pictures and stories!
