November 2023
Dear Families,
Welcome to November! A month of gratitude, friends and family, traditions and an extra hour of sleep! With the arrival of November, we also welcomed the chilly weather. Please send your children into school with warm jackets, hats, gloves and boots, as classes will go outside as much as the weather allows!
On November 13th, Teacher Conferences will take place and there is no school. Home/school communication and family involvement are vital components to a student's educational and social/emotional success. I hope that many of you have scheduled a time to connect with your child's teacher(s). If you have not yet done so, please reach out to the classroom teacher to make a conference time.
I wanted to take the time to let all parents/guardians know that I will be out for a period of time in November for surgery. Mrs. Amy Sumner, Associate Principal, will be assuming many of my responsibilities during this absence. Mrs. Sumner will be assisted by Mr. Matt Reilly, another familiar face here at Bolivar, as well as members of the District Office administrative team. I will be in consistent communication with Mrs. Sumner and Mr. Reilly during my recovery and I have full confidence in their leadership.
As we approach the holiday season, it will be exciting to see how each classroom celebrates different traditions in the coming weeks. In November, we often reflect upon that for which we are thankful. In that light, I want to extend a thank you to all of the families, parent/guardians and community members who beautifully support Bolivar Road. Whether it is with volunteer time, donations, being a substitute, offering encouraging words, a wave in the drop off line or smile at pick-up - thank you!
Stay warm!
Mrs. Kara May
