Assessment Updates
The end of PARCC is here and I want to thank parents and students for their hard work and preparation. Students did an amazing job remembering their iPads and ensuring they were charged. Because of your hard work we had a very successful combination of 6th and 7th grade testing this year which enabled us to reduce our testing time by 100%.
We have one final school-wide assessment for the year and that is MAP. MAP ELA has started and Math will begin on May 12th.
Again, thank you for all that you do!

We the People Competition
Congratulations to our students who won first place in the Washington County We the People competition!
We the People is an instructional program that teaches the history and principles of the American constitutional democracy while enhancing students' understanding of government. Students discover the contemporary relevance to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights at the same time. This program has a built-in authentic performance assessment: simulated congressional hearing. The simulated hearings allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of constitutional principles. Students evaluate, take, and defend positions on relevant historical and contemporary issues.

Student Service Learning Hours
Eighth grade students should have brought home information on the 8th grade SSL project. If you have questions about the project please reach out to you child’s ELA teacher.
In addition to the 8th grade project being completed in ELA class, 8th grade students have the opportunity to earn additional SSL hours for completing community service projects. Remember these projects need the approval of a School Counselor before the student begins the project. Yellow Student Service Learning cards are available in the guidance and main office. If you have any questions about these additional projects please contact our guidance department.
