Flatonia Elementary Memo

Inspired this week by New Routines!

With the new year, comes new routines. After the first week back in class, the routines will continue to get easier if you keep up the changes. The fresh start to a new year has always been a time that I enjoyed in the classroom because it gave me a chance to look at things that were and were not working and make adjustments. Students are also ready to adapt to new changes during the start of the second semester, so let's take advantage of this time to continue to improve what we already have in place.

The classroom may not be the only place you are starting new routines, so I wish you the best in all that you wish for in 2016!

Safety & Awareness

Just a reminder to please stop any visitor you see on campus if they do not have a visitor's pass. Please direct them to the office, or if you're available escort them to get a pass. Thanks for being alert and for keeping our student's safe!

A PBL Project...Martin Luther King Jr.

Check out this Great PBL Project for the upcoming MLK Holiday!

With Martin Luther King Day coming up in a couple of weeks, I decided that had to be the focus of this exercise. In the spirit of MLK, your students will be asked to consider something at the school that can be changed or improved upon, and decide how they as students can help bring about that change. Obviously, they won't need to organize a major bus boycott in the city of Montgomery, or march through the streets of Washington... but it's a good start and the spirit is the same.

Nicole Ramirez, M.Ed. Principal

I strive to be a Connected Educator that uses my online PLN to access resources, ideas, and information. I often participate in Twitter Chats, visit blogs, and follow Educators online. I believe this helps me to grow professionally, and continually learn. I hope that the Inspirations Memo can provide you with ideas, information and resources you can use. I will aspire to be the Lead Learner for our Campus, and I hope you will join me in learning.
