Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome back to the summer term at Kirk Fenton! The children have all settled well back into school this week and I have seen some fabulous writing going on in the classrooms. This is always a very busy term with assessments across school, trips, sports day, performances and all of the Year 6 leavers' events and the new Reception Intake events so keep an eye on communication from school to know when things are happening. Statutory Assessments take place as follows:

Year 6 SATs - week commencing Tuesday 9th May

Year 2 SATs - throughout May

Year 1 Phonics Screening - throughout June

Year 4 Multiplication Screening - throughout June

Results for all the statutory tests will be available at the end of July just before we break up for the summer.

You may have seen in the news that the NEU voted to continue with strike action. As far as I am aware at this point in time, school will remain open for all classes. I will let you know as soon as I can if this situation changes.

Finally, as we start the new term, a reminder to please park respectfully in the streets around school. Pupils should not be dropped off in the bus lay-by or anywhere with the zig-zag yellow lines.

Have a lovely weekend,

Karen Williams

Message from Head Pupils

This week has been a slow and steady start to the new term. It has been lovely to see everybody refreshed and ready to learn. We have an exciting new musician of the month…ABBA! We have also started to recite our coronation songs that will help us understand how important the occasion is. Enjoy your weekend and see you next week.

Head Pupil certificates went to Alex, Milligan class and Effie, Rosen class.
