The Boom Site Creative Writing Summer Intensive
Summer Intensive: Creative Writing Sampler
Week 1 (July 23 - July 27): Prose and Poetry
Week 2 (July 30 to August 3): Screenplays, Podcast and Personal Narrative
Both weeks from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
Join us for the 2nd Creative Writing Sampler Summer Intensive: A two week creative writing intensive will provide an overview of the four major genres of literature - fiction, nonfiction, drama and poetry - and build the skills and knowledge necessary to write and edit creative works. In addition, we will offer an opportunity to learn the illustrative skills of the visual arts. Week 1 will consider fiction, graphic novel writing and poetry. Week 2 will provide an overview of drama, screenplays and personal. Classes will be taught by published authors including: New York Times best selling author, Jacqueline West and popular young adult writer, Anne Greenwood Brown; graphic novelists Ted Anderson and Robert Algeo; drama and screen writers, Jane Fredericksen and Josh Cisewski, dynamic language arts teachers and local literary professionals. Students can attend one week or both.
Early bird registration ends July 1. Tuition $145 for one week, $250 for two weeks. After July 1: $175 for one week; $290 for two weeks. (Tuition includes snack, but not lunch.) Programming will take place at St. Croix Preparatory Academy, 4620 Stagecoach Trail N, Stillwater, MN.
