Bus Riders: BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR INFINITE CAMPUS AND STAY TUNED FOR A MESSAGE FROM FIRST STUDENT ABOUT YOUR BUS TIME AND BUS NUMBER!


Bus routes have been updated to allow for new students, alleviate overcrowding and maximize the use of our resources.


Car Riders/Walkers/Bike Riders: Please do not arrive at Walden prior to 7:55. Student supervision does not begin until this time and students will not be admitted to the building.


  • Students should not be dropped off or picked up in the parking lot. This is unsafe.


Dismissal: If you are one of the first to arrive please pull up to the end of the sidewalk to make room for other vehicles. As you wait please turn off your vehicle.

School Lunch and Breakfast

For the past 18 months, the federal government has provided free school meals to students. That program has expired and now families must pay for school meals unless they qualify for free or reduced lunch programs. The price of school lunches for the 22-23 school year is $3.50(premium) and $3.10(regular). Breakfast is $1.90(premium) and $1.75(regular). Please be sure you have money in your student's SchoolCafe account for the first day of school. Students must bring lunch from home or purchase from school. They may not have lunch delivered to them.


Also, while we love to have guests at school, our cafeteria is extremely crowded. Should you want to have lunch with your student, you must call us at least 24 hours in advance so we may reserve a place outside of the cafeteria for you to eat.

Intramurals are coming!

We wanted to take a moment to share some information regarding our intramural program. We know intramurals are a great way for students to get involved, especially at the 6th-grade level and we are committed to providing this opportunity for our students and families. However, as you are aware, the district is experiencing bus driver shortages and working through transportation efficiencies. With this information, we will not be able to provide transportation home from intramurals for the first quarter. We will be monitoring how this goes and we will re-evaluate this plan at the end of the quarter. From there, we will provide communication about the plan for the second quarter.


While we know this could be disappointing to some, we are exhausting all of our resources to assist. And we will support any student and family who has specific transportation needs. One way we will be doing this is by providing the opportunity for ride-sharing in the district. On the attached permission form, you will find additional information. On the intramural permission form, you will find a spot for you to offer to transport another child or to select if you'd like to be connected with another family to transport your child. Stay tuned!

Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls

Student IDs

This year, more than ever, it is crucial for your student to wear their school-issued ID and lanyard. This ID is one of our first lines of school safety. It provides a way for all school personnel to identify if a student is a Jaguar and if they are where they are supposed to be. Additionally, students will be scanning on and off of our buses. This new feature will allow us to know if a student is on the bus, on the correct bus and when they entered and exited the bus. You can also see this information through the FirstView App.


Student IDs are also used to scan for lunch. Our lunch lines move faster when students can scan and don't have to put in their student numbers. Those who do not have their ID at lunch will have to be at the end of the line to allow those that remembered their ID to move expeditiously through the line. Students who don't have IDs cannot get up once they are seated to get items from the JAG. These are incentives for students to wear their IDs!


Copies, library book checkout, and the PBIS rewards system are also tied to the student IDs.


If a student loses their ID we will replace it once at no cost. Beyond that, each replacement ID is $5. Should they also lose their ID and lanyard it will be an additional $2.50. Students may not bring a lanyard from home to wear as our lanyards are color specific to their team. IDs must also stay free of stickers and other items that block the student's photo.


Please reinforce with your student the importance of wearing their ID. We appreciate your help!

English Landing Park in Parkville.

Packets will be available 2:30-6:00 pm on Friday, September 23rd at the Park Hill District Office. 7703 NW Barry Rd.

Proceeds from the Fun Run will benefit the educational programs the Foundation supports.

      • Specialized teacher assistant: $17.89

Park Hill Star Awards

Has someone at Walden exceeded your expectations or done something you feel needs to be recognized by our district office and superintendent? Take a moment to nominate them for the Park Hill Star award. Even nominees receive recognition from Dr. Kimbrel. This simple recognition makes such a difference to our teachers and staff.

Character Strong

Walden is pleased to once again be using the Character Strong social-emotional learning curriculum. One piece of this curriculum involves character dares. There are many facets to these dares, one of which is a family dare. Each week I'll be posting a dare for you to use at home. These dares provide talking points for families and may spark in-depth conversations, especially for those who feel like their sweet, young children have turned into middle school seclusionists!
