Curtis Chronicles
January 23, 2023
Principal's Corner; Ms. Sonya Pitcock
Cougar parents,
I just want to brag on your kids to start this message. They have really done a great job coming back from break and getting back into routines at school. They are consistently having their ID badges, are getting to class on time, getting their work done, following the expectations at lunch and in the halls and just overall doing great! I’m so proud of them for rising to our high expectations and continuing to grow. Thank you for your support at home to encourage them and work with us to continue to help them be successful!
Upcoming events include:
Band students popcorn fundraiser: Help out our band students and get some tasty popcorn too! Here’s the link if you are interested in buying some Mom and Popcorn. They will ship anywhere you’d like to send it or you can pick it up from our students. https://fundraisingstore.momandpopcorn.com/
Club and Group Photo day is January 25th. Students will need to bring or wear their club/groups shirts if they have one that day. Students in multiple clubs/groups will bring all their shirts and change for the different pictures.
February 7 will be our Parent Expo Night for Course Registration for next year. It will be a short meeting for parents with opportunities for parents to ask questions of our staff after the presentation. The expo will start at 6:00 in the CMS cafeteria. All information will be on our website as well. This meeting is for incoming 7th and 8th grade students.
Please mark your calendars for our STAAR testing dates for this semester. We know you are scheduling appointments and making plans now for April and May so please try to avoid scheduling anything on these dates:

April 27 – STAAR Social Studies – grade 8
May 2 – STAAR Science – grade 8
May 9 – STAAR Math grades 7 and 8; Algebra EOC – grade 8
