Welcome Back

Wow, what a return to school! With all the twists and turns, we are ready to jump off the roller coaster and get down to some routine. Our Chester families have been in our hearts through all of this and we are so happy to see the students.

CES staff has planned an engaging and enriching kick off to our year, welcoming our Greenville students to our community and setting off on a year of connecting and thriving. The first day is September 9th, 2021 and we will have Back to School Night on September 13th.

There will be a special Newsletter that will come out next week prior to school with all of the Health and Safety guidelines and protocols and the bus schedules. Masks will be required, so find some that are comfortable for your students. It is a good idea to have an extra mask in their backpack "just in case."

With Flexibility and Grace,

Colly Fischer

Staff Spotlight

Mrs. Fischer is the principal of Chester Elementary School. She is originally from San Jose and moved to the Lake Almanor Basin in 2020. She was drawn to the area for its beautiful natural landscape and caring community.

A graduate of Cal Poly and UC Berkley, Mrs. Fischer is a lifelong learner, avid reader, and a nature enthusiast. She brings 30 years of experience in the educational field to Chester Elementary School. Like many CES students, Mrs. Fischer is happiest when she has book in her hands; her favorite is The House at Pooh Corner. She loves the spirit and purity of the CES Mountain Kids. Mrs. Fischer is committed to feeding the natural curiosity of children so that they can learn, grow, and thrive.

When Mrs. Fisher is away from CES, she can be found with a piece of homemade chocolate cake in her hand, reading travel and history books about Europe where she dreams of going someday.

We have all been through a lot these last few months. Sometimes it's hard to know the right thing to say. Stress also shows up in many different ways, especially among children. This is a great resource for parents and remember that all of us here at CES are here to help.
