"Reach Every Student, Every Day."

Week of May 2nd

Happy Mother's Day!

As the students were writing their persuasive essays on why their mother should be featured on the cover of People magazine as Mother of the Year, I couldn't help but smile. You are all so appreciated and loved by your children. Thank you for all that you do for your kids. They convinced me that there really is no one better than YOU! I wish you all a blessed and relaxing Mother's Day!

Field Day Fun

Tuesday was a perfect day for Field Day. How fun it was to use the new track and field! The kids had a great time and were sure worn out afterwards. We had some new events this year, such as a javelin throw (pool noodle with golf ball) and hurdles (PVC pipes). The kids all have their favorite events but for some reason they tend to enjoy the water balloon toss that the teachers participate in. I wonder why! Here are a few pictures from Tuesday.

Playground Project

We finished up our $100,000 playground design project this week. One of the groups decided to make a Newscast about their project. Check it out in the video below!

Band Notes

Woo hoo!! There have been several students who have expressed an interest in attending a summer music camp! Here is some more information for you with regard to music camp opportunities. Please contact me right away if you have any questions.

The Music Boosters’ Summer Camp Scholarship Fund encourages students to attend music camps. Award amounts are $50.00 per student (per camp).

A. A student wishing to attend a summer music camp must submit a dated and signed letter to the Music Booster Board detailing:

  1. Which camp he/she wants to attend
  2. How much it costs
  3. Dates of the camp and deadline for registration
  4. Reasons for attending (short 2-4 sentence paragraph)

B. Submit letters to Mrs. Beck no later than Friday, May 13, 2016. A check, made out to the camp (not the parents or students) will be issued.

C. It will be the responsibility of the parents to send the check with their registration form, or to present it at the time that final payments are due.

Students should have brought home registration forms this week. If you don’t have one, or need more information about the camps, please contact me right away.
