Important Reminders / General Info
- I am out of the building at meetings almost all day Wednesday (no friends over or parties or use of the stove).
- Last Days of School: Wed, 6/20 is the LAST Day for students with the last 3 days of school, 6/18-6/20 being Early Dismissals (1:37 PM). Teachers will work through 6/22 with the last 2 days (6/21-6/22) being Professional Development as well as 1/2 days. Plans for classified staff is being discussed.
- End of Year Dates to Remember: With the extended year, we have altered some of the end of year dates. A new calendar was placed in mailboxes. Please note changes.
- NWEA testing starts Tuesday, April 24! Click HERE for Draft schedule. Please review carefully and let Jenna know of any conflicts.
Staff News
- Rena Estes has joined us as a new Lunch/Recess Para, please join me in welcoming her to the Hawley Family (and thank you to Jenna for continued and ongoing work to our supervisory schedules)
- As some of you may or may not know, The Wasley's are relocating to Ohio after this school year. Join me in wishing them the best of luck as they will be missed (as staff, students and members of the school community)
- Linda Arruda-Mastrianni and Frank Vaccarelli have announced their retirement, join me in wishing them well on the beginning of their next chapter and thanking them for their service to Newtown Public Schools.
- Congratulations to Kim Jones as she was recently blessed with the birth of her 4th grandson, Enzo.

Loved the article, What Creativity Really Is- and Why Schools Need It, by psychologist Liane Gabora. Found it interesting and helpful but more importantly, just got my mind thinking. A worthy read or possible PLC discussion.
