Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
Positive Message for the Week: Our 6th graders had an eventful week. I heard so many positive compliments about our students. Whether it was the San Diego County counselors at Camp Cuyamaca or our teachers at the Wild Animal Park, many agree BMMS has amazing students and families. Thank you for your partnership and support!
PTSA Treasurer Needed: We are in desperate need of a PTSA treasurer for next school year. Without one, our PTSA cannot exist and will shut down for 2020-2021. If you are interested in serving, please contact Tara Luna bmmsptsapresident@gmail.com
BMMS shines at the Coastal Regional Tournament: BMMS Odyssey of the Mind teams had a great day with both of our teams qualifying for States (1st and 2nd place). And both Westview teams (made up mostly of former BMMS students) had 1st place finishes and are going to States. Here's a LINK to the results.
Edwin and Parsa make the News: Students from BMMS went to Miramar College to compete in the San Diego Science Olympiad. Some of them were featured on the news. Check them out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXV6RnFe984&feature=youtu.be
Hints for homework: Homework is not always easy for our students (and sometimes for our parents). Here are some helpful hints to help with homework...
Think it through: before your child begins, have them make a “to do” list. Example: write a poem, read history chapter, solve 10 math problems.
Think about time: ask your child to consider different time slots they can get their homework done. Also help them find a comfortable spot where they can work free of distractions.
Think positive: help your middle schooler see homework as a chance to prove their independence by getting their work done on time and doing it by themselves.

LGBTQIAP2+ -- A list of initials, numbers, and symbols that describes a vibrant community of individuals keeps changing. The dynamic nature of the list, while potentially confusing, reflects the ongoing efforts of the community to both represent and welcome individuals with unique and evolving ways of defining themselves with regard to biological sex, gender identity, romantic attraction, sexuality, spirituality, and advocacy. Participate in a conversation focused on parenting and caregiving LGBTQIAP2+ children.
