The Mata Memo
May 25, 2021
Principal's Message
Dear Mata families,
It is hard to believe that May is coming to an end. As we close out the school year and begin planning for the next school year, we are ensuring that our students' June is filled with accelerated instruction, engaging lessons and activities, and celebrations. We are beginning to tap into TEKS for the upcoming school year. Our teachers are reviewing their data and reteaching concepts. They are also incorporating Montessori assignments, working on projects, novel studies, and game competitions to make the end of the school year fun and filled with new learning experiences.
Parents, I would like to remind you to please register your child for the 2021/22 school year and select your choice for bus routes. The information is below. You must create a new account this year.
If you have a child that will be new to primary, lower, upper, or middle school, we are hosting zoom information events. We encourage you to attend!

Returning Student Registration for 2021-2022
Student registration for the 2021-2022 school year will be 100% online. DISD will no longer be using Parent Portal (Powerschool) for registration. We are switching over to a new enrollment system called SchoolMint.
All parents will need to create a new account. This is not the same account information as Parent Portal. The only exception would be if you already created an account to apply for a choice school this year.
To link your student to your account you will need to know their student ID number that can be found in your Parent Portal account or your student’s report card.
Please see the attachment below for more details.
