NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 3 | 27 OCTOBER 2023

It is very hard to believe that we are in Term Four already … where has the year gone! I hope everyone has enjoyed a smooth start to the term. I would like to extend a very big thank you to Mrs Emma Fernandez for taking on the role of Acting Principal over the past two weeks, allowing me to enjoy some long service leave with my family. Also, to all the staff for supporting her during this time. While I had a wonderful holiday, I was excited to get back to school and hear all about the fabulous Early Years Ride-a-thon and the Interschool Athletics Carnival. Two amazing events that were loved by the students. Thank you to the staff involved for organising them.
This week we stopped and celebrated our teaching staff with World Teacher’s Day with a delicious morning tea provided by our wonderful Education Assistants. We are so blessed to have such dedicated teachers working at our school. Teachers are the unsung heroes who shape the minds of future generations, imparting knowledge, wisdom and life lessons that extend far beyond the classroom. Our teachers are committed, resilient and passionate about teaching and they inspire me every day! To our teachers, thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement and belief in the potential of every student.
Thursday was our annual Grandparents Day and what a turn out we had! It was so nice to welcome all our Grandparents to our school. Celebrating our Grandparents is a joyous occasion at St Elizabeth’s. Our Year Four students entertained us with a wonderful item and song about Grandparents and just how great they are! I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating and meeting the wonderful individuals that hold such a very special place in our students’ hearts. Some of our Grandparents travelled distances to attend this day with everyone walking away very happy and thrilled to be invited into the classrooms. A big thank you is also extended to Mrs Didlock, Mrs Dimond, Mrs Martino and Mrs Burgess for organising a delicious morning tea for our Grandparents to enjoy. Our Grandparents Day was definitely a success!
Finally, just a reminder to please adhere to the City of Wanneroo parking rules around the school grounds. Parking on the footpath is strictly prohibited.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.
God Bless!
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians
Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend the Parish Priest and Leader's Network Meeting at St Anthony's School. This network was established four years ago as a collaborative effort between St Anthony's CPS, St Elizabeth's CPS, and our parish, driven by a shared recognition of the importance of connecting our schools and parishes. The primary objective was to foster an alignment in Sacramental programs and practices, ensuring a cohesive and spiritually enriching experience for our community.
On Wednesday evening, our Year 3 parents and students participated in a Reconciliation Workshop. The interactive session was facilitated by Mario from 24:7 Youth Ministry. The workshop provided a hands-on and engaging approach to help both students and parents deepen their understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Through meaningful discussions, activities, and reflection, everyone in attendance had the opportunity to connect as a parish community.
Our St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Collection will begin on Thursday, 2 November.
We ask that each class bring in items on Vincent Day for the hampers, which will be donated to St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
In gratitude
Emma Fernandez
Assistant Principal

Not only will this donation help our school with future projects, but we hope it will also encourage students to uphold our uniform policy and wear the school colours with pride.
To assist you with your purchasing, samples of the hair bows and hair ties will be available for viewing in the front office from the beginning of term 4.
All orders need to be submitted by 5pm WST Friday 27th October and bows will be delivered to school for distribution from Friday 17th November 2023.
