2018-2019 Registration
Here is the link to the registration guide. It is almost complete. I am waiting on one or two more descriptions. Special Ed. is doing their own guide in a separate packet. When we come around to the Language Arts classes on February 5th we will print the guide for the specific grade level and eliminate the other pages. We will walk students through a presentation and show them how to fill out the sheet. Please take a look and send me changes that you still need made.
Advisory teachers will also play a role in this registration process. I will explain all details at our January staff meeting.
I have also attached the January calendar. Please take a look at it. I have academic progress monitoring dates, SLC date, and the PBIS celebration on it. Please let me know if you need something added to it. I will print them Tuesday and place them in your mailboxes. (Ignore that there is a Sunday on there and not Saturday--tried to fit it on one page!)
Happy New Year and welcome back!

PBIS Celebration
Teachers,
We will be having our Quarterly All-Star celebration on January 19th. It will be from 7:00 am-7:30 am. Reminder, students who get chosen get to invite to adult guests for breakfast, a short celebratory speech, and to get congratulated. All staff are invited to come and congratulate the students. We will serve juice and muffins again. All-Stars get a certificate and an invitation for each guest.
Each TEACHER needs to pick TWO ALL-Stars. The students who get chosen will know you selected them. Please chose your two all-stars by Wednesday, January 10th so we can get certificates and invitations made.
Please see the attached list of QTR 1 All-Stars so you don't pick someone who has already been picked.
Like last time, please enter your names on this form.

Thursday, January 11th is also the next PBIS celebration during Academic Seminar. We will present SOM then. We will need all team November and December SOM by then. Please have your team leads put the names on the google sheet so we can get the certificates made.
Thank you!

Hallways on Block Days
Per our CPT meetings on 12.4.17 we want to remind you that students should not be released on block days to take a break. We still need students to have passes in the hallway. Please limit the students that are given passes during block days to 1-2 at a time unless you are with your class supervising all of them at one time. The hallways were busy again during the block days last week with students reporting being on a break. We need to be consistent all day every day with our pass system. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Do you have the Remind App?
If you haven't downloaded the Remind App please do so. Remind is available for staff and students on the iPads. Parents can download it on their devices. It is a great communication tool. With Remind you can text families, attach PDFs, website links, pictures, and more. Remind will translate for families. We will be encouraging all students and parents to sign up.
Please join @FMSteachers and @FMSnews if you want to see what we send out to parents. We will be providing more tips and tricks for using Remind in the future. Your Digital Learning coaches can help too!
Fire Marshall News
Based on recent feedback from our fire marshal & indoor air quality consultant, we need to abide by the following rules:
Lights - Holiday lighting and strings of lights- 30 days max length of time, then must remove
Electrical cords - Cannot be daisy chained (one plugged into another) used only as temporary (one day) I have seen some taped to the floor. Others run behind furniture which tells me they are not temporary. Commercial 3 prong cords in good repair only, NO 2 wire cheap ones allowed at anytime
Heaters - NOT ALLOWED AT ALL! Remove immediately
Personal Appliances - Remove all personal appliances. Examples are refrigerators, microwaves, pizza ovens, coffee makers, toasters, fans, lamps, crock pots, etc…. Any appliance used must not say “For household use only”. Special occasions where these would be allowed on a limited use are a lounge luncheon type of event. The district will be purchasing toasters or toaster ovens for each lounge in the next month or so, after which all toasters will need to be disposed of.
Wall Hangings - Hallways walls are limited to 20% coverage. Classroom walls are limited to 50% Items cannot hang from other parts of the room. Only walls allowed.
Door Coverings - Decorating/ covering of doors are limited to 50% of each side of each door. A door must look like a door at all times
NO LIVE TREES
Live Plants - Take all plants home
Any kind of Air Fresheners are not allowed - Examples are Scentsy pots, glade plug ins, sprays, candles, etc…
Open Flames - Anything with an open flame is not allowed
