TIPS & RECIPE IDEAS
Red Haven Peaches
These amazing peaches came from one of our favorite local farms, Huffman Fruit Farm, located at 13080 Lisbon Rd., in Salem. Red Haven peaches are usually the first freestone peaches to ripen. Read more about these delicious summer favorites here: https://www.eatlikenoone.com/red-haven-peaches.htm
Leeks look like overgrown green onions, but have a milder, more delicate flavor than onions. The white base and green stalk are used for cooking in creamy soups, fresh, stocks and more. After harvest, leeks can keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks -- or they can be dried for storage. Check out how to clean them properly here: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/how_to_clean_leeks/
Then you can use an assortment of your tomatoes, a leek, and some thyme to create the fresh veggie combo below or try leek and thyme in a fish entrée.
