Manatee Elementary Staff Newsletter

Important Notes

I have tweaked your retention log to make it a bit more user friendly. I am recommending you meet as a grade level and go over the categories before anyone inputs any data. Each grade is free to add/change categories on their retention log. Data is due in the retention log 24 hours before your meeting. We really need the iReady December Reading Assessment scores for the students we will be discussing. I am happy to help assess these students in an open lab type situation if that could benefit you, just let me know. This information was also sent to you via Outlook Calendar Appointments. Please accept that appointment from the email, it will add reminders to your electronic calendar.

Last year we had no incidents of food allergies, this year we have had 5.
Just a reminder that it is important to be extra vigilant around holiday time with our students that have food allergies. Please remember to contact parents and let them know if there will be special treats in the classroom so they can plan accordingly. Also, when in doubt if a child can consume/touch something, please feel free to check with the nurse to read ingredients and follow up with parents. Lastly, please make sure students are washing their hands after eating and cleaning their desks. We have many students that will have a reaction if they come into contact with an allergen (even if they don’t consume the allergen). Last year .
