Webster Central School District Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15)!
The commemoration first began in the United States in 1968, and Webster is excited to honor and recognize the many meaningful contributions to our community and our nation that are made every day by Americans whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America!
Maggie, an 11 year old Miniature GoldenDoodle, spends two days a week at Klem South. Her career as a registered therapy dog began in June 2012. Maggie provides comfort and friendship to many of the students and staff at Klem South. She also enjoys listening to students read. While she spends her days with Ms. Allocco’s class, she available to any student or staff member in need!
News from 5th Grade!
News from PE Class!
News from the Art Room!
If you are looking for a fun way to start your afternoons, I am looking for volunteers in the Klem South Art room. The kindergarten artists could use help from 11:45-12:30 and the First Grade artists from 1:20-2:05. If you know a week in advance that you are available for either of these time slots send me an email email@example.com. You can come in once, weekly, bi-weekly, anything that works for your schedule. Seeing the kids create is really special and together we can give the little artists even more fun experiences.
Are you a memory hoarder like me? I’ve saved ALL of my kids art projects and even though the clutter drives me nuts, I can’t bring myself to get rid of their precious creations. Artkive is a company that I have turned to help me hold on to the memories, but let go of the clutter. They turn the artwork into a nice neat book. Artkive is offering a discount for our school because we have so many talented young artists. Enjoy!!
Attendance in school matters. We appreciate all that you do to ensure your child is in school!

New Year, New Start Times
Welcome to the start of another school year together! Beginning this year, Webster CSD students at all 11 schools will experience new start and end times. New hours for all middle and high schools are 8:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m. and 7:50 a.m.–2:20 p.m. for elementary schools (Plank North and Klem North will be 7:40 a.m.–2:10 p.m.). Webster CSD spent the last year communicating the details of this positive change for the One Webster community. In addition, WonderCare, Webster CSD’s new before and after school program, will open its doors this fall as a way to help ease the transition to new start times for WCSD families as the district shifts to an earlier start time for elementary school and a later start time for secondary schools. Please visit www.websterschools.org/wondercare for more information.
2019-20 Tax Rates Approved
WCSD’s Board of Education approved the 2019-20 tax rates as presented by Assistant Superintendent for Business Brian Freeman during the August 15 regular board meeting. The approved, final tax rates for WCSD are listed below.
Additionally, the equalization ratio, as determined by New York State, changed for the Towns of Webster (81.5% to 77%), Penfield (95% to 90%), and Walworth (98% to 92%). These changes impacted the rates for all four towns located in the district.
Be sure to read this monthly column from your board of education shared in school newsletters throughout the year. We look forward to serving nearly 8,400 students, families, faculty, and staff once again this year!
