Learning Without Limits

The Vestavia Hills City Schools mission is to to ensure each student learns without limits by pursuing knowledge and igniting curiosity about the world through a system distinguished by a safe and nurturing environment, the courage to be creative, unparalleled community support, appreciation of diversity and multiple paths to a bold future.

It is impressive to see all the many ways our students and staff are pursuing knowledge and igniting curiosity in their work. Here are a few highlights from this past week that should be noted:

  • Our Audio-Visual team, Pirate Vision, had a workshop on Tuesday to learn about broadcast and print. They are beginning to work on our first student-led broadcast, and they recently published Pirate Pages for the students and staff at Pizitz.
  • Our Math Team had their first in-person competition for the year at UAB on Saturday. In addition to the meet, our 7th & 8th grade participants heard from math professors and had a tour of campus.
  • Scholar's Bowl kicked off their season two weeks ago, bringing home a win against Berry Middle School this week.
  • The debate season is underway, as well. They held their first debate last week and won.
  • Mr. Bostic defended his dissertation this week and officially became Dr. Bostic. Congrats to him on this accomplishment.

We are so proud of the work of our students and staff. There is much growth in learning to be celebrated at Pizitz!

Congratulations to our Pizitz Majorettes! They won first place at the Peach Twirl Classic in Clanton this weekend. They placed first in the Dance Twirl and Middle School Halftime divisions. Way to go, Pirates!

Pizza Party

The Blood Drive Pizza Party will be held this Tuesday, November 9th, in the Pirate's Cove during 4C! Pizza and drinks will be provided to students who had someone donate. If a student is unsure if they are on the list, they should check with his/her science teacher.

High School Soccer Team Information

For the guys that made the VHHS Boys' Soccer team in the Spring, there is a parent meeting in the New Gym at the high school on November 10th at 6pm.
