Principal's Brief

Greetings Cougar Nation,

We pray that you all are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic. As you are aware, the Governor has ordered all K-12 public schools closed until the end of the current school year. While this is not the outcome we were hoping for we understand that the safety of our students and staff has to be the top priority. That means that Reid Ross Classical School is closed including the office. All staff are working remotely at home during this period of closure. All staff, including office staff, may be reached during normal business hours via email. Our school phone is being answered daily from 9:00- 1:00 PM.

All teachers will be available to assist students and address parent questions from 9:00- 12:00 daily. Please email them for assistance with assignments or coursework. Please make sure students are communicating with their teachers regularly.

I know that many students still have items in their lockers and classrooms that they need to get and materials that need to be returned since schools will not reopen this year. Once I receive directions from the district, we will communicate the plan for that to happen.

Please know that we are here to support your needs during this period of transition. We hope that all of our families stay safe and heed the advice that is being given by state and local officials. We hope to see all of you real soon.

Yours in Education,

Felix M. Keyes

Principal

Graduation 2020

Our District leadership remains committed to providing an appropriate recognition for the Class of 2020. Dr. Connelly, Superintendent, is meeting with senior leaders from every school and principals this week to discuss possible scenarios for graduation. We know how hard they have worked for this moment in their school career. The District will share information once decisions and solutions are finalized.

We are working on a plan with our vendors to get ordered materials (caps, gowns, announcements, etc.) to students in a safe and effective manner. We will communicate this information to you once the district leadership finalizes a plan. The county is purchasing yard signs for every senior. This will be distributed with the other graduation materials.
