Cordata Elementary
January 2021 Newsletter
Welcome to 2021, Bobcats!
I hope this newsletter finds you well! Here at Cordata we are excited for our second-grade students to return to in-person learning this Thursday, January 14. In addition, our Promise K students will begin school on Monday, January 25. As a quick reminder, our school day for all students who are here at Cordata is 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you have a student heading back soon and have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Our main office number is 360.676.6461.
As we move into late January and February, our hope is to have additional grade levels return for in-person learning. Our superintendent, Dr. Baker, provides frequent updates for our families and community, so please check your email and the Bellingham Schools website for the most current information. It's truly wonderful to look ahead to having all of our students with us for in-person learning!

Health Attestation
Before attending in-person learning for second grade, we ask that families fill out the health attestation, agreeing to check daily for symptoms of illness and to keep symptomatic children home from school. Health officials require us to have families fill this out semi-regularly. School staff will follow up with you if this is not on file for your student. Additionally, please review the COVID Family Safety Plan online, which includes reminders about COVID-19 symptoms, the importance of mask-wearing, hand-washing, and maintaining distance. Thank you for abiding by these rules and following public health guidelines. If you have any questions about the attestation, please reach out to your teacher, school principal, or the school nurse.
Thank you!
Weekly Meal Boxes!
Meal box distribution is each Wednesday here at Cordata, 4:00 to 5:30 PM!
We encourage all families to pick up a free box of 14 meals and support our food services program, the Good Food Project in Bellingham Public Schools, as well as our local community. In every week’s box, we will provide a scratch-made entrée out of our Central Kitchen with ingredients sources from local farms when available. Now is a great time to bring the school cafeteria into your home with these meals!
