February 4-H Month
February is here, and you know what that means, right? Time to celebrate Nebraska 4-H Month! Nebraska 4-H Month, traditionally held during February each year, is an opportunity to celebrate 4-H locally, recruit new members and volunteers, and have fun! There are many ways to celebrate Nebraska 4-H Month either individually or with your club or county!
Sioux County 4-H will be celebrating in these ways:
- Weekly Themes
- Bingo Card all month
- Connect with 4-H event
4-H Bingo
Throughout 4-H month, youth are welcome to complete activities on our bingo card. We welcome all ages, 4-H members, and non-4-H members to participate!
If youth complete a bingo, they can share the bingo with us at our Connect With 4-H event (see below) or bring it to the office. Prices include 4-H swag and more!
The bingo card link is below or we have copies in the office.
Macramé Keychain workshop
We are holding a different workshop every month in case you are missing summer workshops. The January workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 4-6pm at the Extension Office due to the robotics showcase. The fee for this workshop will be $10. We will be creating a macramé rainbow key chain. Please call the office or email Melissa Mracek at mmracek2@unl.edu to RSVP by January 20th! We would like to have three participants attend. Participants do not need to be 4-H members.
Leather Workshop
Gerald Foerderer is excited to offer another leather workshop making a horn saddle bag. The tentative date would be February 17th from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Youth would need to pack a lunch. Melissa will know on February 13th if that date no longer works for Gerald, then the workshop would be held after school the week of March 20th through the 24th. The cost for this workshop is $15 and will be paid to Gerald on the day of the workshop. Please RSVP by February 10th to make sure Gerald has enough materials. You can RSVP by contacting the office at (308) 668-2428 or Melissa Mracek at mmracek2@unl.edu.
