Depression
Depression can affect people of all ages. Some people may only experience only one episode of depression in their life while others can experience many episodes of depression. Depression can suddenly begin for no reason. Other times depression can be associated with a life situation.
Signs of Depression
- changes in eating patterns
- daytime sleepiness
- aggressive/destructive behavior
- trouble concentrating
- beginning to use alcohol/drugs
- changes in personality/behavior
Warning Signs of Suicide
- Frequent thoughts of death
- "I wish I were dead"
- Giving away prized possessions
- Death themes in artwork or written work
- apathy
Self-Injury Signs
- cutting
- burning
- carving
- scratching
- marking
- head-baniging
- scrapes and bruises
