Popular Skype Visit
It was a jam-packed year of author visits for the library that ended with the successful Skype visit by Maya Van Wagenen who wrote Popular: a memoir to a group of approximately 25 students in the UN Room.
We appreciated the visits by our other speakers/authors that included Holocaust survivor, Marion Blumenthal Lazan (Four Perfect Pebbles) in October and Ruta Sepetys (Between Shades of Gray & Out of the Easy) in March. In all, over 500 students benefited from their words, wisdom, and gifts. We'll try to make next year just as exciting.
Thank You!
We want to thank Darryl McGrath, wife of the late Jim McGrath, for her donation of selected titles of his personal collection of books to the Albany High School Library. During the Superintendent's report on May 21st, she spoke and was recognized for the contribution. The titles will be added to the collection this summer with a special bookplate memorializing the donation and a display at the beginning of the school year.
