Just a friendly reminder, there is no gum allowed in gym.
For the safety of all students, please wear proper shoes to PE class. Tennis shoes are best! In the warmer weather kids like to wear flip flops and sandals and in the winter boots are often necessary. During these times, pack tennis shoes in your backpack so you can change before coming to PE.
PE classes outside
Please plan to dress appropriately to be outside in PE. This means that in the morning students shoes may get wet from the dew (pack extra socks or shoes to accommodate the problem of having wet shoes/socks all day). You may also want to wear sun screen to school since we will be outside whenever possible!

We will be posting more regularly starting this spring. Field day is coming – WE NEED YOU!!!
This year field day will take place on Monday, June 3. All grades will take place in the afternoon with a start time of approximately 1:15. Volunteers should be here at approximately 1:00. Sign up genius information to volunteer is coming soon! We will need grapes and starburst for snacks – please sign up online to bring those as well. Check the weekly soon for specifics!
The games are easy and fun!
Yo-Yo Show & Order Form
On May 29th at 3 pm, JES & the PTA are sponsoring the last program of the year! Yo-Yo Tricks will be putting on a presentation to not only entertain, but teach the students some fun tricks! Order forms will also be coming home to purchase a yo-yo. Orders will be fulfilled after the program on the 29th to be sent home. All orders will be due by May 29th.
Yearbooks – Order Deadline Extended!
The deadline to order a yearbook has been extended until May 30TH. This will be the final date to place an order online. Any additional yearbooks we receive will be available on a first come first service basis the last week of school after all online orders have been distributed. Cereal Drive - Gleaners Community Food Bank
This year we are participating in a district-wide Gleaners Community Food Bank Cereal Drive. The cereal collected will be distributed by Gleaners to children throughout Michigan who benefit from free or reduced cost breakfasts and lunches but do not know where their next meal is coming from over the Summer.
Last year Northville contributed more than 29,000 servings of cereal. This year, with your help, we hope to boost that number to over 40,000.
The drive has been organized by two Northville High School brothers that are working to end the Summer hunger of hundreds of thousands of children in Michigan.

OPEN PTA BOARD POSITIONS FOR 2019-2020
PRESIDENT * VICE PRESIDENT 1 * VICE PRESIDENT 2 * TREASURER * SECRETARY
All terms are for one year, with a maximum of 2 consecutive years in the position.
Elections will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 7pm at Winchester.
We need at least 8 members to hold the vote. If you have not been to a meeting, please join us! We will be giving an update on projects we funded this year, requests made by teachers, Field Day, and a list of open committee positions for next year. No commitments necessary when you attend a meeting!!
The primary responsibility is to manage overall goals and strategies of PTA and leading the PTA Board in moving forward toward achieving those goals. The president acts as a guide to all VP’s and will be responsible for overall PTA budget supervision. This will involve organizing, leading and supporting other officers and committee chairs.
Vice President 1 & 2
Both Vice Presidents will oversee the various programs and events of the PTA and support the president. The VPs will guide each committee chair and ensure timely execution of all activities.
The Secretary will attend executive board and association meetings. The Secretary will photocopy the minutes from the last general meeting for distribution (and approval) at the upcoming general meeting and prepare the sign-in sheet. The Secretary will take minutes at meetings, type them up, and post them to the website upon approval. The Secretary will participate in discussions and decision making at PTA board meetings.
The primary responsibility of the Treasurer is to receive and accurately maintain all PTA money in accordance with the PTA Membership approved annual budget. The Treasurer will provide receipts for money received, deposit all money in the PTA bank account, and pay PTA invoices and reimbursement requests as approved by the PTA membership or PTA board. The Treasurer must keep accurate records and permanent books of all PTA finances.

Camp Meads Mill
Attention incoming 6th grade Meads Mill Students:
Do you have a new 6th grader who might need help with the transition to middle
school? The CAMP program is designed to help incoming 6th graders build
personal, academic, and life management skills necessary to successfully
transition to middle school. CAMP MEADS MILL is open to 60 incoming 6th graders.
CAMP is at Meads Mill Middle School August 12-16.
Registration packets are available in your school office and at the Northville Youth Assistance office (located in the Northville Senior Center) . There will be an option to register online Camp Meads Mill Online registration but payment must be mailed in or dropped off.
