Movements of The Antebellum Period
The beginning of women's power & Fall of prison conditions
Prisons during the Antebellum Reform
There was multiple issues with this reform time but one of the worse in my opinion were the prisons. Prisoners were treated inhumanely sometimes where sent to jail because of debt & these people would have to share cells with mass murderers some of these people may be killed or unjustifiably tourcherd
Mental hospitals
Exposed inhumane treatment to the mentally ill people that couldn't help them selfs
The state cave the mental mental hospitals instead of going to jail like they usually sent them
Public education
One man that comes to mind when we talk about this is Horace Mann because he supported tax public school, like few people he thought the country couldn't survive if citizens didn't get the proper education
alcohol abuse
many thought that alcohol was the main problem with the society
The society convinced many to reduce alcohol use
Women's rights
The fight to make the women have the same rights as men
Women where only able to take care of society & also there homes
Seneca convention started the organization women's rights movement in the united states in 1848
Elizabeth Cady stanton was a leader she demanded women's & so the declaration of sentiments declared men and woman to be equal
