An Intensive One-Day Workshop for High School Juniors
Presented By:
Get oriented. Get motivated. Get started!
No School on Friday, March 14th... So Jumpstart Your College Search!
We have an interactive and informative day in store, covering essential college admissions topics (click on the video link and see schedule below for details) -- as well as insider tips and updates on the latest admissions trends. Whether students have already begun their college search, or are just starting to think about it; all will benefit from the day's agenda.
Cost: $100 per student. Includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch, snack, and planning resources to take home.
To Register: Email beth@collegeandcompany.com. In the subject line write "Jumpstart Registration." In the body of the message, include student name, parent(s) name, mailing address, and phone. The Jumpstart program is limited to the first 20 students who register via email. Upon receiving your email, we will reply to confirm your registration, and to provide additional details. We do expect the program to fill quickly. If your payment and written forms are not received by the date specified, we may offer your slot to another student.
Note: Students will be given a short online assignment prior to our day together. To complete this task, students will need the access code printed on their PSAT score report. Please let us know if you did not take the PSAT or are having difficulty locating your access code, and we will provide alternative instructions. Students are encouraged to bring a laptop to the program for the hands-on activities and research that we have planned. If this is not possible, please let us know in advance.

Afternoon Agenda: Building the college list, how to research colleges, elements of the application in greater detail (testing, course selection, activities resume, effective essays, "demonstrated interest," personal statements, and special talents or circumstances), types of applications, college visits, interviews, and group Q & A.

Our program will be hands-on and interactive. We respect that this is a day off from school and it should be enjoyable! Simultaneously, we expect willing participation and engagement on the part of students. Please do not force an unwilling student to attend, as they are unlikely to gain the full benefit of the curriculum.
