From the Principal's Desk...
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Governor DeWine announced on Monday that all K-12 Ohio schools will remain closed for the rest of this academic year. This provides an answer to one of the questions we’ve all been asking, but it also raises many more questions. I want everyone to know that we have been working on responses, strategies and processes well before this announcement.
This week I have had conversations with Fr. Pete, Fr. Kyle, Laura Meibers, assistant superintendent for the archdiocese, and our entire faculty and staff about where we go from here. You will receive a more detailed communication on Friday of this week as we work to finalize these strategies. Please know that everyone’s health and safety are most important.
I want to thank all of you for your wonderful support and cooperation during this pandemic. I recognize the sacrifices you have had to make to support your daughters and sons in their distance learning. Our faculty and staff will be meeting via Zoom this evening to discuss the draft which I have sent them,
There are many unanswered questions for all of us, and we are relying upon the wisdom and guidance of Governor DeWine, Dr. Acton and his staff for responses to these questions. For our part, we are working to make sure that our 8th grade students are able to have some kind of Graduation, Confirmation and memorable closing for their time at St. John the Baptist School.
In the midst of all that we still do not know, today’s Gospel (JN 3:16) provides us with what we do know. “God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son” so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” May we continue to place our hope and trust in what God has promised us. Let us pray for each other as we continue during this challenging time.
Peace,
Dan Minelli

Blue Jay Showcase
class of 2020
Almost ready to fly from the Blue Jay Nest onto their next big adventures as high school students, our 44 eighth graders have very bright futures ahead. Although their last few months at St. John's are not ending the way anyone could have ever imagined, nothing can take away all the fond memories they already share together.
Stay tuned as we continue to honor them throughout the next few weeks.
Our Class of 2020 are headed to a total of 14 different high schools. We wish each and every one of them the best of luck!
