K-2 Science Projects

Cooper Landing K-2 students are building their own spaceships and are participating in NASA's student challenge to build a mission to Mars. They will be joining in live stream Q&As with experts and sharing student work with a worldwide audience. When the challenge culminates on February 18, the students will land their missions along with the Perseverance Mars Rover!

To that end, students are learning how to land a spacecraft on target. Click on this link to see how they are doing it! https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/learn/project/land-a-spacecraft-on-target/

They are also learning about craters and how they are made. They had fun with this one for sure! (Mr. Gossard stood by with the vacuum!) https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/teach/activity/make-a-crater/

A friendly reminder that all students out sick, regardless of whether they have been sent home from school, or you have opted to keep them home must follow district protocol for COVID19 quarantining. This means they must quarantine for 10 days AND not return until they have been symptom free for 24 hours OR they may get tested and return to school after a negative test result AND remaining symptom free for 24 hours. Students must be medication free to be considered symptom free.
