CAMPUS CONNECTION
Rigor, Relevance and Relationships
December Edition
A note from the Principal
I hope everyone got to read the After Thanksgiving Push memo I sent on November 30th. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is very challenging for everyone. Some students will reach a point where they may not feel like they cannot make it to the finish line if they have gotten behind. That moment is where resiliency matters in their educational journey. Every student has the potential to be resilient; they need to access it when it's necessary. I know that our students struggle with the pandemic primarily because it prevents them from socially interacting with their friends. Unfortunately, this is the same case in all schools at this point. Our number one mission is to get students into our building when it is safe and appropriate and allowed by the health department.
We are currently still permitted to bring in small groups of students who need support and want support. Families must know our campus is open and safe. Anyone who needs help can access teachers on our campus. We have opened up campus Monday/Wednesday for High School and Tuesday/Thursday for Middle School, and you do not need to be concerned about the day you were scheduled to come in; just come on in and get some help if you need it. If you have a group of friends and students, you would like to work within an appropriate socially distanced way on campus, and we can accommodate that. Many students and teachers feel that there is not an end in sight for this pandemic. We hear positive news related to what a vaccine might look like, and hopefully, that gets us out of this bizarre situation we have been in for the last nine months. Just like your home should not be a full-time educational facility, we don't believe schools should have this few kids in them.
I'm positive we are all looking forward to the holidays to get some rest, but students and teachers will need to remain steadfast in their commitment to completing courses. We are in a very focused and intentional timeframe to finish our classes on time and successfully. We want to support our students the best way that we possibly can to help them achieve their goals. If you need anything, please reach out directly to your teachers and let them know, and they will work with you to get you in and get you the support you need. Good luck, and remember content in classes stop on December 11th, and students must finish their courses by December 17th. Happy Holiday!
