From the Middle EMS and ELA
News from the Principal, May 18, 2021
Hello Parents and Families,
We are in our final days of school for the 20-21 school year. We have nearly made it to the finish line in what has proved to be an absolute marathon of a year. BUT...there is so much good that has come out of this year. In the last few weeks, in meeting with teachers to reflect on their year and set goals for next year, again and again teachers have shared amazing stories of resiliency and hard work happening in all our classrooms. Our student are AMAZING, and so are all our families and parents! Thank you!

PARENTS--WE NEED YOU!!
Our event is all about COMMUNITY, and you are a very important part of our school community. We truly want voices from all throughout our community represented, which is why we are asking you to share your experiences.
We would love to display pictures of families from our community as well as brief stories or poetry, or even small pieces of art that reflect our families and community. This piece should represent you--parents, guardians, caretakers--of our middle school kids.
Please submit your creative piece to middleschoolvoices@engschools.net by May 15th.
You can also bring your creative piece to the event and add it to the display that night.
Here's an example from one of our very own EMS teachers who also lives in Englewood.

CHOICE ENROLLMENT WINDOW IS OPEN!
If you live outside of Englewood, and plan to continue in Englewood Schools for 2021/2022 school year, you MUST complete the Choice Enrollment application now in order to attend an Englewood School next year. Those who live out of district and who do not complete a choice enrollment application will not be able to attend Englewood schools in the fall.
Round 1: January 4, 2021 through February 1, 2021
Round 2: February 15, 2021 through August 31, 2021
Englewood offers unique and customized learning opportunities at each school, so you're sure to find one that suits your student. Space is limited, so please fill out the Open Enrollment Application and Agreement (en español) as soon as you have made a decision.
Return the form to the District Registrar at 4101 S. Bannock St. or to Vivian_Cifuentes@engschools.net during the choice enrollment window.
Final decisions will be made within two weeks of the closing of the enrollment window and families will be notified by mail.
If you have questions, please reach out to Trish Tucker in our main office at 303-806-2100.
