CEF Application for 2016-17 NOW thru MARCH 15th
- The 2016-17 Private School Aid Service (PSAS) tuition assistance application is available online at www.ceflou.org. We also have applications available in the office for those families who prefer to mail their information. Families only need to complete one PSAS application to be eligible for tuition assistance for all their children. The completed application, along with the $25 fee, should be submitted to PSAS on or before March 15, 2016.
- We sent an instructional flyer and application to every St. Paul family recently. Asking for tuition assistance is a very private family decision. Often families who are experiencing difficulty are reluctant to take the steps needed to request assistance but let me assure you, if this is the case the answer will be “Yes” to assistance. Last year with the help of the CEF, needs-based to tuition discounts, archdiocese voucher fund and school choice, St. Paul families were awarded $151,960 in assistance.
- NOW IS THE TIME for more families to join our storied Catholic school community with 105 years of tradition.
You can also find various links or files to download that I will post from time to time as rehearsals progress.

A Quick Note from the English Room
Terra Nova Testing has started!
- 5th English: We have not met much this week due to Terra Nova Testing. However, we have worked more with our spelling words and looking at subject/ verb agreement. I plan to have the spelling test late next week.
- 5th Language Arts: We have finished Trumpet of the Swan! They are working on vocabulary squares for that book now. Ask your child to show you their vocabulary squares this weekend. They will have a quiz over chapters 10-21 on Tuesday. We also listened to the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere yesterday. The students were very excited because they had just learned about him in Social Studies. We will be looking at the vocabulary words that go with that story next week.
- 7th English: We did not meet much due to Terra Nova Testing. We will complete our 30 word vocabulary test today. That means that we will get a new set of words next week.
- 7th Language Arts: Students finished chapters 22-24 in The Westing Game and were assigned chapters 25-27 to finish by next Friday. We are rapidly approaching the end to this book. Ask your child about what is happening in their book this weekend. 7th grade also worked with Mrs. Trusty on Book of the Month. We have decided that this will become an English project grade each month. Their assignment is due on the last day of March. We will be focusing on finishing the February book reports next week.
- 8th English: We did not meet much due to Terra Nova testing. We took our 30 word vocabulary test today. This means they will be getting a new set of words next week!
- 8th Language Arts: Students are working on chapters 4-6 in Running Out of Time. We have read some of it in class and they really seem to be enjoying the story! These chapters will be due Monday. We only have four more students who need to present their February Book Report. If your child has presented theirs already, ask them about the book they're reporting for their March Book Report. They have also been working with Mrs. Trusty on Book of the Month. We have agreed to make this a project grade for English. Their assignment is due on the last day of March. Ask your child what they plan to do for the Book of the Month project.
Have a wonderful weekend!
