Miscue Analysis In Running Records - Does It Look Right?
Does it look right? (V-visual)
Did the visual information from the print influence any part of the error? This could be a letter, a cluster, chunk, or word.
Remind/teach students the following so that they can use visual information to solve words quickly.
*You can read it again and start the word. (Model rereading and articulate the first sound.)
*You can get your mouth ready to start the tricky word. (Model.)
*You can say the word slowly, like when you write it. (Model.)
*You can find a part you know. (Model.)
